~Source: Geneology of the Balch Families in America By: Galusha Balch
On this page I wanted to create a family tree to better trace the decendents of John Balch (settled in Massachusetts 1623)
and aide in the distribution of information about these descendants. If you look at each name on the family tree you will
see that each name is a link that can be clicked on. If you click on each name it will take you to further information
about that individual and their children.
There are currently gaps in this family tree so you will see some red boxes that indicate "missing information".
Also, you may notice, there are blue arrows next to some of the boxes but not next to all of the boxes. These blue
arrows are meant to take you on to other parts of the family tree. Right now there aren't many blue arrows because I
don't have all of the portions of this family tree constructed yet. As I add more branches to the family tree you
will see more blue arrows and you will be able to follow those lines further towards the present day. I will continue
to work on the family tree so if you check back you will likely see more information in the future.
At the bottom of each page, of the family tree, you will also see a key/legend that explains the different colors for
the boxes. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see why the different boxes are different colors. The
starting point on the family tree is simply white and for this page it starts with John Balch. After
John each male descendant on the tree is color coded with gray while females are a light cream color. Then the
remaining color is purple which I will use if I get a partial name or for some other reason don't know the gender of a
particular individual on the tree.
I will continue to look for information about the various people on this "tree" and continue to fill in gaps as I can.
If you can help me fill in some of the gaps leave me a note in my guestbook and I will try to update the information.
